Robin was born in Rockford, IL in 1973. Both of her parents are painters. Robin attended C.A.P.A. (Creative and Performing Arts) from fifth grade until the end of high school.

 

In 1994, she moved to Minneapolis where she worked at both the Minneapolis Institute of Art and the Walker Art Museum while attending school. She received her B.F.A. in painting from the University of Minnesota in 1997.  

Robin moved to California in 1998 where she received her M.F.A. from the University of California, Davis in 2000.

After graduate school, she moved to Los Angeles where she began to show her work both locally and nationally. Her work has been reviewed by several publications, including Angeleno magazine, Artweek, IdN, Vodka Magazine, and Los Angeles Times.

 

She began teaching art at California State University in 2001 where she is still teaching today. In addition to CSUN, Robin has also taught art at UCLA, Loyola Marymount University, Pasadena City College, and many two- and four-year institutions in the Los Angeles area.

 

Robin also writes for Sapling Press and Paper Rebel greeting cards and her writing has been published in Reader's Digest and has been seen on Ellen DeGeneres' talk show three times. 

Robin lives in Los Angeles with her husband and five rescue cats.
